because someone forgot to love you
'Because Someone Forgot to Love You' explores pieces of us that make a heart beat and a relationship tick. Developed like a familiar, delicious recipe divided into ingredients, the poetry collection is separated into eight chapters: "salt + vinegar," "epsom salt + painkillers," "milk + cookies," "eucalyptus + library books," "lavender + rosemary," "museums + mausoleums," "chocolates + bubbly," and "honey bees + dandy lions," themselves exploring the ingredients needed to heal. As we go through trauma, sometimes it is easier to think someone hurt you or didn't love you simply because they forgot. 'Because Someone Forgot to Love You' delves into themes of abuse, trauma, growth, self-love, healing, parenthood, moving on, body image, eternal perspective, forgiveness, and what it truly means to love someone in spite of yourself. The poems dare to say, "You are this way because someone forgot to love you." CONTENT GUIDANCE: This novel explores aspects of psychology and mental health and contains depictions of suicidal thoughts, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and mental illness. Please read with care.
